Christmas Weekend Rewind

Please forgive my unedited photos...

Thursday
Christmas Eve Eve
Kathryn came over to drop off adorable individual cherry pies for Pete & my mom.  Ironically, I am the only one that ate one -- and it was delicious.  She's a good baker, that Kathryn.  While she was here, we exchanged gifts.  We gave her a blue Kitchenaid hand mixer she had been wanting.  Maybe these means we will see more delicious goodies from her?  We think she liked it.

Mom arrived shortly after Kathryn and we had a pretty low-key night.  We finally watched A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve, Mom, Pete and I all went to visit Kathryn at her station in Pasadena.  Traffic was amazing so it didn't take us very long to get there.  We met some of her crew and became acquainted with the condemned building they call home.  They really need to build a new one!  Get on that, Pasadena.
After our visit with Kathryn we did some last minute shopping at Target and had some Freebirds for lunch.  That evening Pete and I went to St. Anne's for mass which was interesting as well.  Apparently a parishioner has a seizure during mass... and no one really did anything.  The people she was with obviously called 911, but mass kept going as if nothing was happening.  It was bizarre.  As mass ended we headed out... and it was pouring.  While everyone else stood looking at the rain, Pete and I braved it and ran to the car.  We had no trouble getting out of the parking lot - everyone else was still inside.
With the help of Mom, we made Christmas Eve perogies, ham, and broccoli casserole.  After dinner we opened presents and drank egg nog.  It was a pretty good night.

Saturday
Christmas
Christmas morning, we all woke up pretty early.  We opened our stockings and got ready to head over to  my cousin Linda's house.  Linda & her husband Chad have four great kids and they had a huge Christmas!  My cousin Vanessa, her boyfriend Trey, and my aunt and uncle Van & Hank were also there.  It was a good family gathering.

After Linda & Chad's we made a Christmas dinner of Turkey, mashed potatoes, crescent rolls, and green bean casserole.  After dinner mom had to head back to Austin.  I took a nap and Pete played Xbox.  Perfect day.
We hope your Christmas was a fun as ours.
